 Meta Vision Systems in Oxford, England, which manufactures cost-effective, laser-based seam finding and tracking equipment for automating arc welding, has appointed ARMIN WEICHLER to provide technical back-up to the group's sales partners and end users in Europe. His remits are giving detailed advice on the use of Meta systems, applications support, assistance with installation, and field service. Based in Hamburg, he has experience of Meta equipment in previous positions with German engineering companies.
This appointment is in line with Meta's policy of having technical support close to the customer base and has been funded by steady growth in business throughout Europe over recent years. Germany was chosen as the first support location outside the UK and North America as it is the manufacturer's biggest market.
There are now around 700 Meta systems helping to improve the productivity and quality of fabrications, and reduce rework and scrap, in over 30 countries across every continent (except Antarctica).
